Human Rights :)

1. What are Human Rights?

Human Rights are Rights and freedoms to which all humans are intitlet. They can exists as share norms of actual human morallyties or as legal rights.

2. When did human rights start?

The human rights movement emerged in the 1940s, from former socielists in easter and western Europe with contributions from the USA and Latin-America.

3. Why were they created?

Human rights were created in 1948 to protect people and give them the same rights and freedoms no matter their race, but moreover, to the consequences of the second World War.

4. How many human rights are there?

There are thirty articles based on human rights.

5. Which human right were you not familiar with?

Human rights which I am not familiar with are copyright and right to public assembly. I didn’t know that they exist.

6. Choose one human right and discuss:

The human right that I choose is: “NO SLAVERY”.
I totally disagree with slavery, so I think that this human right is so good for people who suffered this injustice.

In my country, Spain, nowadays there isn’t slavery, but when a spanish group of men went to America, they made slaves from the tribes who lived there.

Of course, there are countries that don’t respect this right today, like for example: Africa, in some countries of South America, in some countries of Asia...

In conclusion, I choose this video because in my opinion slavery starts when human race appears and it must disappear inmediately.

7. Are human rights relevant in the world today?

Yes they are, because people, in general, have more freedom than before and, of course, more rights.

But there are a few of them that are not respected yet. For example: it depends on the country where you live, women and men aren’t paid the same amount of money for the same job. A man always gets more.

Film

The ugly truth

This film talks about a woman who works on the TV. She’s the type of girl who only lives for her job, she is a shy person and she’s always incontrol. But one day she calls to a TV programme to talk to the presenter because he always boasts.
They had had an argument and she starts to hate him. The day before, a new boy started to work in her company, he’s Mike, the presenter.
After a few days they start to become friends and he helps her to meet a boy and Abby and her neighbour start a relationship.
Mike gets jealous and at the end Abby and him fall in love.

This film is a romantic comedy and I like these type of movies, but the things that shocked me, more than the plot, are the things that transmit a lot about what is life, what is love... And in my opinion it can help people to solve some of their problems.
The fil director does a metaphor: he tries to make a relation with two lives.
Mike’s life (he’s an extroverted, big headed and it seems that he doesn’t worry about anything) and Abby’s life (she’s shy, introverted...). So, they are very different, like hot and cold.
But really, they’re alike because they’re unhappy with their lives and they  try to change their real personality, like somebody who wants to wear a mask all the time.
There are a lot of people who do the same as Mike and Abby. But if we try to focus on the true personality of everybody we can discover that people are very different from what we first think about them.

In conclusion, I think that this film transmit good things. So, I recommend you to watch it.

Refexion of my oral presentation

I think that my oral presentation went quite badly.
I used a power point with a lot of photos and I included only the essential information on it. The timing was good because we spoke for 7 minutes more less and we had to do this.

In my other presentations maybe I was more nervous than this presentation, because I didn’t have a lot of experiance and I’m a very shy person... So, in this presentation I felt a bit more relaxed.

I think that I didn’t look at my audience all the time because I was a little bit nervous and I sometimes looked at the screen. I didn’t make movements or gestures to hold the attention of my audience.

The structure of our oral presentation, in my opinion, was good because we looked for a lot of different information, we had to translate somethings, we also looked for examples of famous people...

So I think that the content was essential.
I also think that the people in class were interesed in plastic surgery because nowadays a lot of people do this.
For me, it’s an interestig topic to talk about.

Maybe the worst part was that I read my notes all the time, but I had a lot of homework and exams on the same day as the presentation and I couldn’t study. Moreover, in our exposition there were a lot of difficult technical words.

Finally, I think that my pronunciation was quite good and I hope that I‘ll improve next time.

Vatican plays down Pope's remarks on condoms

The Vatican has long opposed the use of condoms as a form of contraception
The Pope made clear in his view condoms were not the answer to Aids.
But he said their use could sometimes be justified in exceptional cases.

The Pope considered an exceptional situation in which the exercise of sexuality is a real danger to the life of another.

Benedict used the specific example of a male prostitute using a condom.
The Vatican has long opposed condoms as an artificial form of contraception.
This had drawn heavy criticism, particularly from Aids campaigners, who said condoms were one of the few methods proven to stop the spread of HIV.

The head of the United Nations Aids agency, Michael Sidibe, said the Pope's words were a significant step forward.
Although the Catholic Church needed to go further in supporting condom use for preventing the spread of Aids.

I believe that the condom is one of the best ways of contraception if we don’t want to get pregnant and most of all, we don’t want to get Aids.
So, I can’t believe the things that Benedic said in this article because I think that he has an old fashoned mind and nowadays everything has changed.

Cannabis fed to ducks by French farmer for "deworming"

Mr Rouyer said none of his ducks had worms.
A French farmer has been given a one-month jail sentence and fined 500 euros (£428) for feeding his ducks marijuana.
Police arrested Michel Rouyer after they discovered 12 cannabis plants and about 5kg (11lb) of the drug.
Mr Rouyer said that marijuana was good for getting rid of worms for ducks.
Mr Rouyer, (who lives in the village of Gripperie-Saint-Symphorien on France's Atlantic coast) also admitted to smoking some of the marijuana.

In my point of view, this man is irresponsable because he could kill his ducks and if they didn’t die, they could suffer some injures or mental health problems.
Moreover, Mr.Rouyer comitted a crime because he had 12 cannabis plants and 5 kg of the drug, so he had to pay for this.
Everybody can have some cannabis plants in their house if it’s for his own use, but the quantity thet Mr.Rouyer haf on his farmer was too much.

ABORTION

An abortion can occur spontaneosuly     due to complications during pregnancy or can be induced in humans.
Pregnancy there are different types of abortion: it’s called a therapeutic abortion, while an introduced abortion for any other reason is called an elective abortion.

This topic has caused a lot of problems because there are people who agree with this and people who don’t agree.

Some years ago in Spain it was impossible to think that somebody wanted to have an abortion because of religion and the goverment didn’t tolerate it. So, if you were fifteen years old you had to have a child.
But if you didn’t want to have him, you could go to another country and have an abortion. In my opinion, that it’s very expensive because there’re people who couldn’t pay these money. So, it was very difficult.

On the other hand, nowadays, the mind of people change a little bit because the law change, so the girls that are 16 years old, can have an abortion without the parents consent.
But I know that it’s difficult for families to have a child, for many reasons: for their economy, for their houses, for their social lives... A child changes the lives of their parents a lot and when somebody decides to have one, they have to have clear ideas and they have to know that you can’t turn back too.

In my opinion, a baby is the most beautiful thing that can happen in the lives of people because children bring a lot of good things, but if young girls get pregnant, it’s the worts thing that could happen in their lives because everything changes: these young parents don’t have any experiance, they don’t know anything about babies and if they are 16 or 17 years old, they’re still inmature and they have to study to find a good job and to fulfill their goals.
